Agenda: Selecting and Developing Leaders throughout Your
Organization
June 10 8:45-11:45AM
Claudia Shelton and Chris Fahnestock
Group Exercise:
Strengths, Challenges and Burning Questions
Each participant will individually complete a
handout identifying their own assessment of their company’s strengths,
challenges and success factors. Assigned to groups of 8-10 people, individuals
will be asked to collectively pool their perspectives. Handouts will be
collected so presenters can prepare customized information for later discussion.
What Kind of Leaders Are
You Looking for and What’s It Worth To You (ROI)?
Claudia Shelton will explore what a leadership
development must do to capture the energy and commitment of line managers.
She will discuss accomplishments that can peak the interest and change
behaviors for “real” leadership development, and consider the questions of
measuring Return on Investment.
How Do You Make the
Choices for Building Effective Selection and Development Programs?
Chris Fahnestock will share several cases that
exemplify effective approaches to selection/development including early
identification of leaders, managing the high potential talent pool and
managing CEO/Sr. Exec Transitions. She will discuss the objectives,
interventions, assessment, results and perceived ROI of each case.
Self-Assessment and
Implementing Your Plan
Each participant will have the opportunity to
self-assess privately the state of their current program and identify
opportunity gaps. A form will be handed out to each person for this purpose.
Then participants will apply their learning's to a project in their own
organization.
